We pisked this hotel becuase of the location near all of the major attractions, however in hind-sight I would not book this hotel again. The location was handy for getting to the river or to the Grand Palace, however you still had to get taxis to these locations. If you enjoy going out to restaurants for meals or like to go out for a few drinks on a night then China Town is not for you - there are very few formal restaurants, the area is mainly made up of street vendors, and there are no bars - only the one in our hotel. The bedrooms could do with updating - the wallpaper in our room was peeling off. The bed was extremely hard and after sleeping in it for 3 days I felt like I was bruised all over my body. The pool and sunbathing area was nice, however much smaller than it appeared on the hotels website - there are only 8 sunbeds. The breakfast buffet was good - there was a good selection and there was a fresh egg station where you could get eggs done any way you like and waffles. If I was offering advice to a friend who was going to Bangkok I would say do not stay in ChinaTown, I would recomend that they stay in one of the more modern hotels in the Sukhumvit Road area, as there is lots of bars and restaurants and shoppping in these areas and they are well served by the skytrain - to get to the river and then you can get boats to the Grand Palace etc, also taxis are so cheap you can get those to the major siteseeing attarctions.
