For people: - who have a nostalgic vein for old fashion rooms and who love to be in a place which was maybe 25 years ago a 4 Star Hotel, the place might be suitable. - who have never travelled before, who like to be taken by their hand and who think that they need to pay European prices in Thailand, this place is just what they need. - who look for an extremely bad value for money, this place might be perfect too. For people who look for a real 4 Star Hotel, a modern Hotel with a modern bathroom, a modern equipment, a real beach (and not a 3 meter narrow strip followed by a 2 meter high wall), you better try somewhere else. We (parents with a 17 years old daughter) were lucky to book for one night only as we had to take the boat to Koh Tao next day. But even for our short 16 hours stay, 2 bad situations have to be reported. Situation 1: Not wanting to sit with the crowd at the dinner-buffet, we choose the top-restaurant of this Swiss operated resort. The welcome was perfect; the head of the kitchen, a Swiss guy came to greet us and told us he was working with a Star cook in Switzerland before he took a time out year in Thailand from his former job. We ordered 3 steaks and expected Swiss quality for a Swiss price... After one hour of waiting, the steaks arrived. Just after we had finished our „meal“, the chef de cuisine came to ask us how we liked our dinner. I told him that this was the stringiest meat of my life and that I had muscle pain in my arms from cutting the meat and jaw muscles pain from chewing it. Telling him this, was a big mistake. How could I dare saying such bad things to a Star cook? He didn’t want to understand and I had to explain again and again that the meat was terribly stringy. (We ordered medium and the steak looked medium too but that was for the optical aspect only). We felt like criminals, being questioned by a police officer. Finally, after 30 minutes the chef de cuisine said that he would go into the kitchen to prepare another steak for himself as he had to test it by himself and he ordered us to wait until he was back. … We just paid our bill and left the place without waiting. Situation 2: Upon our arrival we were not sure about the free shuttle bus pick up to get to the ferry next morning. The Hotel immediately proposed to call the ferry company in order to confirm the transportation. Next morning, we checked out 6:45am, expecting there would be nothing to pay, as I booked and paid the room over Internet. But nope: They asked me to pay 10 Baht (25 cents) for the phone call concerning the shuttle confirmation that they proposed to do for us. That’s class! Do I have to mention that they think they are a 4 or 5 Star resort and that I paid the astronomic amount (for Thailand) of US$ 210 for a Deluxe room triple? According to my experience with more than 50 visits to Thailand I would rate this a 3 Star resort at the most and US$ 100 for the room would have been fair enough. As our first time in Koh Samui it was not bad. The hotel is well organized, very quite and the staff is wonderful always there for you and of course smiling all the time. Most of the guests are german and french. We stayed in a suite and need to be renovated are quite old, despite very clean. The food is good, every night there is a different buffet. There is also an italian restaurant not bad. The gardens are very nice and well keeped. We drive all around Koh Samui and the nicest beach is Lamai, although is a little bit crowded. If you stay with family Maenam beach is good and quite there are not many sellers, but you will find in front of the hotel 50 mt of seastones well signed. You can swim next to them there is no problems. Have a nice trip. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Lovely and clean. Staff amazingly helpful. Would have been better to have a beachfront room. Not close to Maenam pier as advertised - about a 10 minute drive away.
